Introducing Hello, Bold Heart!
Two girls

This fall we’re rolling out our brand-new curriculum. Through evidence-based lessons, girls will learn to:

  • Boldly share what’s in their hearts

  • Use their voices—even when they feel uncertain

  • Encourage others to express ideas and feelings

  • Build life skills in clear communication, active listening, and conflict resolution

We can’t wait to see the impact it makes on your team!

Program Cost

GOTR Austin is committed to offering our programs throughout our community and will work closely with established sites to ensure any youth who wants to participate is able to do so regardless of their family's ability to pay.

Like many after-school enrichment programs, GOTR Austin has a standard registration fee, but offers financial assistance and discounts each season. In some cases, schools pay for all or a portion of the program, thereby allowing students to participate at low to no cost. Email to inquire about options for your school community or team.

Program fees paid each season assist in providing the following to all GOTR Austin participants:

  • Seasonal program t-shirt
  • 5K registration, packet and medal
  • 10-week season curriculum and materials
  • 20 social-emotional and physical education lessons, including a community project
  • Background checks and training for all adults (and youth) supporting GOTR Austin teams

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based and interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to enjoying physical activity at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Your program registration fee includes 20-lesson curriculum along with all team materials and supplies for the season, plus a seasonal program t-shirt, 5K registration, packet, and finisher's medal.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run Austin accessible to all who want to particpate. Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships of $100 are available to any family who needs it. Please email to inquire.

When does the 10-week season begin?

Generally, the fall season takes place September - December and the spring season takes place February - May. Celebratory 5Ks are generally scheduled the first or second weekend of December (fall) and May (spring).

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide program scholarships for families in need. Donate securely on our website. All funds directly support our local council and young girls in the Greater Austin area.
